My Story
Why I do this work
Before I found Ayurveda, I was living fast and burning out, more than once, dealing with allergies, arthritis, anxiety, panic attacks, stress-related IBS, and eczema. I was confused by the health information out there and didn't know which way to turn.
Ayurveda was my light bulb moment. As my teacher, Dr. Arun Sharma, says, "Ayurveda is the science of common sense" — and it is. Understanding my own Prakriti, my constitution, gave me the clarity I'd been missing, and that clarity was the first real step toward healing. I still see that same moment happen for my students and clients, and it's the part of this work I love most.
There's a reason I notice this kind of struggle so clearly in others. I'm a CODA — a child of Deaf adults — and growing up, I saw firsthand the deprivation, discrimination, and injustice that Deaf people and their families often face. I also saw resilience, strength, and persistence in the people around me who refused to give up. I was one of them. Ayurveda later helped me understand that clear perception, a thirst for understanding, and a low tolerance for injustice are common traits of my particular Prakriti. That early experience shaped the empathy I bring to my work today.
Before I trained in Ayurveda and Yoga, I worked as a sign language communicator, a teacher, in social work and educational, health & care planning for children and young people with special needs, in fitness training, hospitality, and retail. Each of those roles taught me something I still draw on.
I hold the belief that everything happens for a higher purpose, even when we can't see the bigger picture yet, and that healing sometimes asks us to surrender to that rather than force it. Ayurveda and Yoga gave me a direct way to work with that belief — using life's own experience as the teacher.

What to Expect When Working With Me
My practice, Mango Wisdom Wellness Ayurveda & Yoga, is grounded in a Health Science background (BSc Health Promotion) alongside the traditional, evidence-based frameworks of Ayurvedic and Yogic science, theory, philosophy, and practice.
-
Ayurveda Consultations, including Prakriti Analysis — identifying your unique mind-body constitution as the starting point for any work we do together
-
Holistic Wellbeing Sessions, blending intuitive and empathetic self-inquiry, Yoga, and Ayurveda to explore patterns held in the body-mind, offered in blocks of four sessions
-
Yoga for Holistic Wellbeing, combining movement and reflective conversation to support your body-mind-spiritual wellbeing
The aim throughout is the same: helping you discover, understand, accept, and live as your true nature — what I think of as authentic living.
There's something genuinely scientific about how Yoga and Ayurveda work with the body and mind, and often the changes happen gradually, without you noticing at first. It takes commitment, a degree of surrender, and consistency. There will be difficult stretches — that's part of life — but staying with it is what moves you through them. My role is to guide you to understand, accept and take care of the body-mind; the rest happens in its own good time.
Courses, Classes & Retreats
Learning Ayurveda and Yoga alongside others brings its own kind of support — shared understanding, shared practice, and the steady rhythm of learning together over time.
Courses and classes offer a place to build knowledge gradually and put it into practice in daily life; retreats offer the space to step back, go deeper, and return to yourself more fully.
-
Yoga & Ayurveda courses, classes, and workshops
-
Yoga & Ayurveda Retreats
Social & Community Projects
Alongside my one-to-one work, courses, and retreats, my work also includes the social projects I run:
-
Wisdom Wares, a second-hand shop with ecological and social aims
-
Wisdom Eats, a Tiffin food service offering healthy, home-cooked food and creating sustainable local employment
-
Teaching Life-Skills, English, Yoga, and Ayurveda to disadvantaged children, young people, and women in India
This is what living Ayurveda and Yoga means to me — a personal practice, and a way of showing up for others.
