DHARMA

Dharma is natures law, or natural law, right living, right thinking, right behaviour. A way of living that upholds cosmic order and supports individual and collective well-being. It is our ethical responsibility, aligned with truth, purpose and the greater good.

Dharma is a necessary precept for inner peace and collective peace.

It is the principle that guides each being to live in harmony with their true nature, their responsibilities, and the greater order of life. When one lives in alignment with Dharma, personal integrity, social harmony, and spiritual fulfillment arise naturally.

Dharma is something that brings simple joy and benefits others. We create beautiful and infectious energy when we follow our true purpose - our Dharma. It's not necessarily easy to find or follow our path.

We don't always remember the way. I was repelled from mine. And now I understand, through my Dharma of Ayurveda & Yoga, the aversion was due to burning chemical imbalances in my mind and body (the Fire element - Pitta Dosha).

I am eternally grateful for the friend who persistently persuaded me to attend my first Yoga class. There are always special people around helping us to find our path. Friends, enemies, family, strangers, Angels, guides, teachers.

My mind was ridged, inflexible, egoic 'I don't do Yoga!'

I was a qualified fitness trainer & gym addict - fast & furious interval & cross training was my drug.

'Why do I want to stand around with all those thoughts in my head?' I stated.

The second Yoga Sutra of Patanjali tells us 'yogas citta vrtta nirodhah' - 'the restraint of the modifications of the mind stuff is Yoga.'

I wasn't to know that yet.

And then, I relented and went to the class.

Years later, a qualified Yoga Teacher, daily practitioner and guide. Yoga provides me with the wisdom and the tools to gain control of my senses and my sense mind, to journey inwards, not to search outwards and to support others on their own journey's.

Yoga led me to its sister-Ayurveda and through theses amazing guides to self-realisation & self-healing I found my true nature, my purpose, my path, my place in the universe and nothing gives me greater joy.

'mana eva manushyanam

karanam bandha-mokshayoh

bandhaya visayasango

muktyai nirvisayam manah'

'For man, mind is the cause of bondage and mind is the cause of liberation. Mind absorbed in sense objects is the cause of bondage, and mind detached from the sense objects is the cause of liberation.'

Amrita-bindu (Drop of Nectar) Upanishad II.
